How many memberships will Smuggler's Glen Golf Course sell?

• Is a yearly membership available without the initiation fee?
• No and unfortunately we do not offer bulk discounts or savings on pre-paid green fees as other public courses may offer.
• As a member am I subject to assessments or capital calls ?
• No assessments or capital calls will be made to the membership.
Smuggler's Glen will underwrite all capital improvements to the golf course and facilities in order to maintain the first class standards set by the club and expected by the membership.
• Is this an equity membership ? Can I sell it ?
•Smuggler's Glen Golf Course Does Not provide a member with any ownership or
equitable interest in the golf course facilities or assets owned. However,
Smuggler's Glen allows each Founding Member the opportunity to sell their
membership for the value of phase III Entrance Fee pricing or waiting list market
value.
• How many years is my membership good for ?
•A)The Founding Membership is a lifetime offer.
Membership will need to be maintained by yearly dues payments.
• What if I develop health problems, an injury or I am relocated to another area to work that will prevent me from using my membership
• Option # 1. All members will be given a one time only offer to transfer their ownership of membership. This transfer offer is good within the first 15 years of purchase and the applicant and amount must be approved by the club. Member's can transfer their membership to an immediate family member (Member's spouse, child, grandchild or parent of the member) or approved applicant. Corporate members can transfer their membership within the first 15 years to a business partner, associate, employee, family member or approved applicant. A transfer fee of 10% will be assessed to the member in each case.
Option # 2. Within the first 15 years from the date of purchase, a member may sell the membership back to Smuggler's Glen Golf Course. In order for Smuggler's Glen Golf Course to accept the return purchase price of the initiation fee all 125 Founding Memberships must have been sold and a waiting list is in place.
• If I buy a Corporate Membership, what privileges do other employees of my companies have ?
The employees, friends, family and business associates of the Designated Senior Corporate Member can be given green fee passes to play at any time during non- prime tee times. (Tee times booked with the 5-day non-member privilege) For a more complete answer to this question please refer to the overview page of the corporate membership plan, which follows this question and answer section.
• What playing priveleges does the spouse of a Regular Founding Member have to play?
• Four (4) complimentary spousal green fees each year will be included in the Founding Regular Membership offering. Your spouse is permitted to play using these complimentary passes only in the accompany of the regular member. If the spouse desires to play golf on a more regular basis than a spousal membership should be considered purchased.
• What is a Spousal Membership?
• A spousal membership entitles the spouse to have full playing benefits and clubhouse access at a reduced entrance fee and annual due fee. Spousal memberships are attached to the Founding Membership. Please see Regular Membership overview section for more information.
• How many tournaments are there going to be that will interfere with my ability to play golf on weekends and during the week ?
•Smuggler’s Glen Golf Course will be closed no more than four times during the season on weekends to hold full shotgun tournaments. These events will be booked and posted in advance. The course may close from time to time for large midweek tournaments, but for these midweek and weekend tournaments early and late shotgun starts will accommodate members who choose to golf that day. Note: on tournament event days our members have the opportunity and option to play a reciprocal round at the Thousand Islands Golf Club, Wellesley Island, N.Y.
• Can I buy additional green fee passes for friends and employees at a special discount member guest rate? What if I use up all my 50 corporate passes?
•As one of our Founding Members you are entitled to purchase passes for friends, family and employees who play with you at our member guest rate which is 20% off the regular price of green fees. If you are a Corporate Member and you use up all 50 passes before the end of the season, you can purchase additional passes for yourself (and others who play with you) at the member guest rate. A member can purchase up to 3 guest passes per golfing day.
• Can I take a leave of absence and not pay dues for a golf season?
A) Yes, however a non-active fee of $400 will be assessed. A member can be classified as a non-active member for up to 3 years.
