The Seal Family, Owners
Ed and Gert Seal
assumed
ownership of the Glen House Resort in 1962. The Glen House has grown
significantly over the years and now offers 85 rooms including modern
chalets, wood burning riverside rooms, and Jacuzzi suites.
Many functions
including family
reunions, weddings, banquets, corporate retreats, and public sector
meetings are held at the Resort. The Glen House Dining Room, Shipman's
is a popular gathering spot for guests and local residents for
breakfast and dinner.
Years ago Ed Seal
had a vision to
expand the family business and build a top quality golf course on the
property he owned north of the Parkway. During the last couple years
Ed, and his sons Dave and Paul have worked hard to make Ed's dream a
reality. Unfortunatately Ed passed away on Feb 4, 2004 before he could
see the project finished. Dave Seal has pushed forward with the
development of the project.
The Seal family
members are
actively involved in the day to day operations of the Resort and golf
course. Dave Seal is the former president of Resorts Ontario, and will
be taking on the duties as General Manager of Golf Operations for the
new course Smugglers Glen. On behalf of the Seal family we are pleased
to offer you our championship golf course
for both member and public play.
Sincerely,
David J. Seal
